Lettuce Bun Burger
Cook time:
Total time:
Serves: 3

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. Grass Fed Ground Beef
  • 3 slices Organic Cheddar Cheese
  • 3-6 Romaine Leaves
  • 3 Red Onion Slices
  • 3 Tomato Slices
  • Ketchup
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Pinch of Sea Salt
  • Cooking Spray
  • Optional - (get creative and add chili powder, paprika, etc or even top with some avocado slices)
Instructions
  1. Sprinkle pepper and salt onto ground beef
  2. Using your hands work the slices into the beef to evenly distribute throughout
  3. Separate the beef into three section, then roll and pat each section into the shape of a burger patty. It should not be too round or flat, but somewhere in the middle.
  4. Spray a large pan with cooking spray, add burgers to pan and cook over medium heat until desired wellness. For a medium cooked burger, cook each side for around 2 minutes. Add the cheese on top of each when there is only 1 more minute left to cook.
  5. Set burgers aside.
  6. Rinse Romaine leaves well and pat dry.
  7. On a plate, place one or two of the romain lettuce leaves, place the burger on top, add ketchup, then the tomato slice and then the onion. Add any additional condiments that you like to spice things up!
  8. Enjoy!
Notes
Look for a ketchup that is organic and low in sugar. You will be surprised how many ketchup brands add a lot of sweetener to ketchup, even some organic so-called-healthy brands out there.
